Serval’s team listens to the needs of its customers and analyzes those of potential markets. This awareness allows for the development of new formulations or the modification of existing ones; formulas that address a variety of young animal raising requirements.
Our formulations are tested at both our research farms and production facilities.
With an excellent relationship between Serval SAS in France, Serval Canada and Serval USA we are continuously monitoring and developing new and innovative ways to assist our customers and our company for the future.
Technology
Our production process: strict and clear industrial choices of a responsible manufacturer
Serval uses a dry fat reinducing process in the making of its different types of milk-based young animal feed products. First, the proteins, starches and enriched mineral condiments are carefully mixed together. Concurrently, we prepare a mix of fat components made of both animal and vegetable fat.
We then combine the powder mixes and the fat components into a fat reinducing processor. All these operations are thoroughly monitored and controlled by computer.

Each new formula is tested in an experimental barn before it is introduced to the marketplace.

Quality-assurance by way of technological control
The feed production plant in Louiseville, QC. is one of the most productive in North America. The complete computerization at all stages of production assures us of three essential criteria: reliability, traceability and security in the production of all our products.
Quality-assurance by way of lab control
Only the laboratory can authorize the release into production of a given raw material. Regardless of the fact that all our raw material ingredients are required to be analyzed and approved by our suppliers prior to being shipped to our plant, we still exercise strict control over all raw material products that are delivered to us. The laboratory has the last word and its verdict is final.
Quality-assurance by zootechnical control
In the region St-Hyacinthe, we have ultra modern research facilities which allows us to continuously validate our regular feeds as well as our new formulations. The animal has the last word.
Certification
HACCP - Hazard, Analysis and Critical, Control Points
Since 2002, our company has a certification for safety management systems of foodstuffs HACCP, PASA. This certificate attests that we respect the requirements regarding food harmlessness.
At Serval we subscribe to this systematic preventative approach to feed and food safety. At each step of the ingredient selection, production and packaging cycle the HACCP protocol is followed to eliminate the risk of hazards being realized.
